Church's Prayers Answered

Located in Farmingdale, Long Island, a quiet dormitory suburb of New York, St Killians Church is 100 years old and was beginning to show its age. Investigations by local engineers and architects had discovered that the multi wythe masonry walls were separating and required stabilizing from both inside and outside the building to ensure that St Killians reached iits second century.

The deep masonry walls were pinned and secured using the Helifix DryFix 10 x 22” and 24” stainless steel ties. Using a unique installation tool the ties are simply power-driven into the masonry and back-up material via a small pilot hole to provide a rapid cost-effective connection without the use of expansion or chemical grouting techniques. Due to the slim profile of the DryFix ties, they cause minimal disturbance to a building’s fabric.

This meant the walls of St Killians were left with hardly a mark on them and it can now face the future with confidence.

The Helifix DryFix system is widely recommended by architects, engineers and restoration specialists around the world; and is available only from Helifix North America Corporation.
